“Sweet Talk” is a piece to bring awareness to the importance of bees to the world and the impact of their decline on Mother Earth. They are beautiful tiny creatures with a huge impact, devine and deliberately designed. I paired it with these female lips because like a bee, our words can be sweet like honey or sting you. Bee colonies are also made up of female bees and follow the Queen Bee where ever she goes. That speaks volumes to the power of female energy that radiates in this world. From the tinies queen ant, to a queen bee, a the lioness who protects the King of the jungle, to a mother who protects her child. Female energy is powerful and knows no bounds. In my depiction of these Bees, these ladies are small, powerful, feeds, nourishes and creates life.

Some believe bees bring luck and blessings, because they vibrate on a higher frequency and also have healing properties in their sting and honey. As a 3rd generation native to Arizona, and descendant from the Indigenous people of Mexico I believe in the medicinal power of honey, and love and admire these beautiful creatures. That is the reason I collect dead bees and give them another life in my artwork. So next time you have one come visit you, don’t swat or kill it just be reminded of how magnificent these tiny creature are.
